Created in 1949, Walker Park was the second designated park in Fayetteville, and has been developed into a highly utilized park that meets a variety of recreational needs for the community to enjoy. Included in the park are a splashpad, skateboard park, racquetball / handball courts, and a sand volleyball court. It is also a great location to have a family or social gathering with three available pavilions. There is a 1.2-mile paved walking path around the park’s perimeter and the Frisco Trail, which passes through Walker Park, connects it to the Razorback Regional Greenway.
Walker Park has been the home of youth baseball in Fayetteville since the 1960s when volunteers built the original baseball fields and concession stand. New dugouts and bleacher covers were completed in 2013, and upgrades to the concession / restroom building were completed in 2014.
